"Sadie"

I'm Sadie.  They say I am a princess. It must be true. My name after all, is a derivative of Sarah, which means princess or high mistress in some countries, though mum often reminds me that Sadie means Sadie here in Canada, and although I am special, I am not really a princess - the tiara, seen here on the right, was just for fun - so please stop acting like one!

But I just can't help myself.  Living up to my namesake isn't easy.  It's so hard to be me sometimes!  All that doting going on.  All I have to do it bat my big beautiful brown eyes and flash my prettiest smile and they are putty in my hands.

Sigh... what more could a girl ask for?  Honestly, wouldn't only a princess be allowed to sleep on the bed, stretched sideways between mum and dad, taking up all the room while they sleep on the edges with barely any blankets?  Who else but a princess could leave her toys all over the place, and even though mum is always saying "Sadie, pick up your toys," she always does it for me, which is kinda fun actually, cause then I get to pick through the toy box and drag them all out again as soon as she's done.  Honestly, I don't know why she bothers.  My favourites are the huge stuffed teddy bears.  I've gone through at least a dozen or so since mum brought me home a three years ago.

I also went to my first dog shows this spring (2009).  My other mums, Tiffany, pictured with me on the right, and Rosie, did an awesome job of grooming and showing me to my Championship.

I really like going to the shows, all that food and attention. Though I must admit all the grooming and baths aren't my favourite!  But I was a good girl and stood for it all!  My mum says I did awesome job, and she is so proud of me. In six shows I became a Canadian Champion.  I am the fourth champion for my doggy mom, (her name is Doc).

Mum says we might have puppies soon... like real live stuffies of my own. I can hardly wait for another dog my size to run in the yard with.  Don't get me wrong, I love the Shelties, especially Maxie, she's so sweet, like a little sister, and I love her to death, but she can be so annoying sometimes, a real pest, especially when it comes it playing ball, always stalking me, chasing after my ball!  And though Shelties are great, let's face it, they're not Goldens!

And they can't do what I can do!  Check it out... I've got this really cool thing I can do with my lips - gets them every time - my special smile.  I can do each lip separately or both at once.  Mum told me before I went to the shows though, that I wasn't allowed to give that lip thing to the judge.  Shucks, I so love to do it!

And now that I'm a Champion, me and my mum are going to obedience school.  She says some day I'll be getting an "obedience degree" to go along with my other titles of Champion and Certified St. John's Ambulance Therapy Dog (SJATD).  But Obedience? Not quite sure what that word means, ggg!

Anyway, gotta go... Someone is in the toy box.  Did I mention that all the toys are mine?  I also like to eat poop.  What's a princess to do?

Love Sadie.

Sadie's Favourite Joke...

Three handsome male dogs, a golden retriever, a sheltie, and a chihuahua are walking down the street, when they see the most exquisite female poodle.  They are speechless before her beauty, nearly slobbering on themselves just to get close for her attention.

Aware of her charms and her obvious affect on the three male dogs, the beautiful poodle says to them "The first of you who can use the words 'liver and cheese' together in an imaginative, intelligent sentence can go on a date with me." The three handsome males are excited.  The sturdy and muscular golden retriever speaks up quickly, with a wag of his tail, and says, "I love liver and cheese!"

"Oh, how silly," says the beautiful poodle.  "Of course you love liver and cheese. You're a dog. Your sentence shows no imagination."  She turns to the Sheltie, a striking mahogany sable and says, "How well can you do?"

Um... I had liver and cheese for dinner last night,"  blurts out the Sheltie without thinking.

"My, my," says the beautiful poodle.  "I guess it's hopeless.  Your sentence doesn't show much imagination either."  She turns to the last of the three dogs and says "How about you, little guy?"

The last of the three, tiny in stature but big in fame and finesse, is the Taco Bell Chihuahua.  He gives her a smile, a sly wink, turns to the Golden Retriever and Sheltie and says:

"Liver Alone.  Cheese Mine."
